Hey everyone, we have made it through another week!
Today I wanted to share some of the best shopping and grocery delivery apps that have surged in popularity throughout the last couple years. Listed below are 4 different apps and a pros and cons list so you can find the perfect fit for your lifestyle. I personally use these whenever I feel like splurging, don’t want to get off the couch, or am too comfortable in my sweatpants!
Instacart
Instacart offers hand-picked groceries that are delivered from your favorite local stores. Certain terms apply. Type in your address and a list of food stores and more will pop up. Shop from your computer or smartphone, choose what you want, see real-time updates, and select and schedule your time for same-day delivery or pickup. Curbside pickup is available.
Pros:
You don’t need a membership to order with Instacart. You can even order from clubs, like Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s Wholesale Club, without a retailer club membership.
Delivery: Fees start at $3.99 for same-day orders over $35.00. Fees vary for one-hour deliveries, club store deliveries, and deliveries under $35.00.
If something isn’t correct you can report missing items, incorrect items, damaged items, poor replacements, early/late orders through the website.
Customers who order alcohol, prescriptions, or certain high-value items may need to show ID upon delivery. We ask shoppers to wear masks whenever they come into contact with customers.
Leave at My Door is now the default setting for all Instacart deliveries. If you’d prefer to not use this feature, simply uncheck the box that says “Leave at my door if I’m not around” at checkout.
Instacart can be used on Android and iPhone.
Cons:
There may be a “pickup fee” (equivalent to a delivery fee for pickup orders) on your pick-up order.
Service fees vary and are subject to change based on factors like location and the number and types of items in your cart.
Orders containing alcohol have a separate service fee.
Some retailers offer everyday store prices; however, some retailers may set prices on the Instacart platform that are different from in-store prices.
Amazon Shopping
Amazon Shopping offers app-only benefits to help make shopping on Amazon faster and easier than shopping on your desktop. What is the difference between the Amazon app and the Amazon shopping app? The main difference between the two is it’s no longer possible to access Amazon’s own Android Appstore through its app. The new Amazon app, called simply Amazon Shopping, lets you shop from the online store as usual – but nothing else.
Pros:
The app gives you access to Amazon’s online store via your smartphone of choice. You can search for stuff to buy, see recommendations, control Alexa, look up products, check on your orders, manage subscriptions, and loads more
Tool looks for lower prices at other stores while you shop on Amazon and tells you where to buy.
